Sometimes life is tough and unexpected situations like food insecurity occur. At times like these, the Campus Pantry at the University of Arizona is available for any student who can access the Student Union Memorial Center. All one needs is a CatCard and staff will help facilitate food pickup and selection from items such as produce, non-perishables, milk, bread, eggs, frozen goods, hygiene items, and others.

A life-threatening physical emergency should always be directed to 911 or to one’s local ER right away, but if students have questions, they can call Medical After Hours. Medical staff will always be on call and can help students determine if a physical issue is serious. This can be helpful, especially if trying to save on ER fees.

CAMPUS RECREATION
For students who are in Arizona and have access to the campus, there are three Recreation centers that are open seven days per week. The list of activities and classes is vast, ranging from aquatics, fitness classes, outdoor programs such as bicycling and climbing, and sports.

WOMEN & GENDER RESOURCE CENTER (WGRC)
WGRC is a hub with a purpose of advocating for women and for gender issues such as sexual assault and violence on campus. Although sexual assault prevention is one of the main priorities for WGRC, they provide programs and education centered on sex and gender as well. Resources such as a Feminist Pharmacy and sister organizations are promoted on the website.

Purpose Soul Athletics emphasize the importance of mental health for athletes. For people who are already fit or who enjoy working out, there is a list of 20 mental exercises that one can do through physical exertion. A nonprofit that is prominent in trying to help with food insecurity for college and graduate students. Swipe Out Hunger first started in Los Angeles, but has since expanded to 850 locations including the University of Arizona. The numerous toolkits and resources are informative and thorough and can help students access healthy, affordable meals. The nonprofit specifically mentions students who are parents and who are first-generation college students.

Pregnancy and childbirth can have a serious impact on a woman’s health. The Office on Women’s Health (OWH) is within the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It primarily provides information and resources about various physical diseases and conditions as well as reproductive health for women. NATIONAL SEXUAL ASSAULT HOTLINE
Like domestic violence, sexual assault is an extremely serious issue. Survivors should reach out to the RAINN organization through the hotline. Chatting online and calling are the two options available for survivors. RAINN offers information and resources to help survivors understand and heal.
